1. Brief Introduction
Hydroxypropyl Starch ether(HPS) is etherified starch, which is a starch substituent ether generated by the reaction between hydroxyl groups in starch molecules and reactive substances. Including hydroxyalkyl starch, carboxymethyl starch, cationic starch, etc. Due to the etherification of starch, the viscosity stability is improved, and the ether bond is not easily hydrolyzed under strong alkaline conditions. Therefore, etherified starch is used in many fields.

1. Food industry: Hydroxypropyl starch can be used as thickener, suspending agent, and adhesive.
2. Papermaking industry: Hydroxypropyl starch is used for internal sizing and surface sizing of paper to make the film smooth and reduce ink consumption.
3. Textile industry: Hydroxypropyl starch can be used as warp slurry to improve the wear resistance and weaving efficiency during weaving. Hydroxypropyl starch with a high degree of substitution can be used as printing paste.
